Greetings from Social Minister Stefanie Drese on the 2024 World Championships for Tracking Dogs in Dobbin-Linstow

Dear dog sportmen and -women,

for tracking dogs and politicians alike, sometimes it’s all about having the right “nose”. Dogs naturally have the advantage in this respect. However, political decision-making processes are above all the result of teamwork. Good cooperation is also important in dog sports; animals and humans have to trust each other, be patient and show preservance.

President of the FCI Working Dog Commission Robert Markschläger

As preface

I would like to thank the VDH for allowing Germany to host the FCI World Championship for Tracking Dogs at such short term. It takes a lot of preparation, such as providing sufficient terrain for around 100 tracks, an organizing association and a responsible local group, as well as many reliable tracklayers, to ensure that the largest event in the field of tracking dogs can be held. But also the entire organization around the track, pilot service, supply in the field, dignified opening and closing ceremony represent a great challenge. Therefore, many thanks once again to all those who contribute to the success of this event.

Mayer of Dobbin Wilfried Baldermann

Welcome to the commune Dobbin-Linstrow

The World Championship for Tracking Dogs will take place in the Dobbin-Linstow commune from 8 to 14 April 2024. We are delighted that this sport event is being planned in our commune. It is both an honor and a privilege for us. As a commune, we will do everything we can to help and make it a success.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 FOR TRACKING DOGS

Until the middle of last year, there had been no application to host the 2024 Tracking Dog World Championships. It was the idea of the FCI Utility-Dog-Commission to get Germany to host again, based on its experiences from 2000, 2004, 2012 and 2014.

Many thanks to the UDC, the FCI-Board and everyone involved to decide in such a short of time, that Germany will be the host of this important World Championships.

Greetings from Chairman of the National Association of DVG Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear dog sportsmen and women,

on behalf of the DVG Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Regional Association, I would like to welcome you all to this year’s FCI World Championship for Tracking dogs.

The FCI World Tracking Championship has a very long tradition within the FCI. Once a year, the best human-dog teams compete for the world championship title. My best greetings to all qualified teams.

The Dog Sports Club Güstrow has already hosted several state championships and national championships. We all remember many of these for their excellent organization. The best, however, is the organization of a world championship. In order to hold such an event in a worthy setting, the dog sports club Güstrow needs to work unselfishly not only during the event but also well in advance. A special mention should be made of the commitment of sports fans Torsten Schmidt and Mario Lenz, who made this event possible in the first place.

Unfortunately, nowadays it is no longer a matter of course to be there for others unselfishly, so the commitment of all volunteers, especially the HSV Güstrow e.V., is all the more commendable. But this would not be enough if farmers, hunting tenants and sponsors did not support the organizers. I would like to express my sincere thanks on behalf of the entire regional association.
